30: Connections

We’ve seen in the last chapters that at about 30,000 BC there were two distinct races of the hominid species living on Earth – Neanderthal man and his more evolved cousin, Cro-Magnon man – and both inhabited the western European continent and elsewhere. We’ve also seen that Neanderthal man went extinct, for whatever reason, after only about ten thousand years of co-existence with Cro-Magnon man. We’ve also seen that Cro-Magnon man arrived on the scene with an already established and very sophisticated artistic talent that’s out of place with our current understandings of the progressive cultural development of the human race. We’ve also seen that the legendary Atlantean civilization and its final demise at around 9,500 BC is concurrent with the establishment of Cro-Magnon man in Western Europe and parts of Africa. And we’ve seen how the legends of the Bible – the early gods, the creation of the Adamic race, the eviction of Adam and Eve from Eden, the interbreeding between the gods and humans and the resultant race of giants, the barbarism of humans, the Flood event, and the extermination of certain peoples by the chosen Israelites – have strong parallels with most other ancient legends from other cultures around the world. Virtually all of these legends also say, in one way or another, that a great civilization of god-like beings once existed on Earth long before our own, and started our earliest human civilizations. Many of these legends, in particular the ones that go back the farthest in time, also tell of the amazing technology and abilities of these beings. Other legends, mostly from smaller isolated cultures that arose at a later period, tell of these beings having survived a great cataclysm that destroyed their civilization.

At the time that Darwin’s theory of evolution was first introduced in the mid-nineteenth century, the findings of archeology were just beginning to reveal the remains of our human ancestors. This theory wasn’t created with the idea that it would apply to humans, but it quickly dawned on scientists that it was just as valid with our species as it was with any other living organism. This created a great deal of consternation at the time, because it was still popularly believed that man was a special creation brought about by a divine power, and so the idea that we were once apes – as was being quickly revealed by the new science of archeology – was just not acceptable to these ardent believers in religious doctrine.

Previously, starting in the Middle Ages, the interest in all things ancient that centered on the weird and wonderful eventually came to be termed ‘antiquarianism’, and the collectors of these things were those who had the wealth and inclination to seek out and purchase such rare oddities for their private collections. This included Popes, cardinals, kings, rich merchants, and adventurous explorers. These collections sometimes ended up in museums, but it can be assumed that many of these collections have never seen the light of day, and remain hidden away in private chambers where few even know of their existence.

It should be noted that those who had the greatest ability to acquire these relics of our past were those who were most commonly involved with secret societies as well, and this leads us to wonder if perhaps certain secrets about our past that are still popularly questioned and guessed at might be revealed within these secret collections. We might even wonder, given what has been revealed in this text, whether there has been a certain amount of purposeful manipulation of our newly developing understanding of our past that such hidden archeological finds would give evidence to. After all, the main institutions of our modern society that decide on what is fact and what is not were all established by these same interested parties who first sought to possess these relics. It’s very possible, and even likely, that these decision-makers looked to these relics with a thought to their own growing domination of what was to be believed and what was not, and the control and power that such dictated beliefs might afford them.

Such control and power would have been even greater if they already had some inkling of the truth of our past through secret ancient knowledge that had already come into their possession and allowed them to see these relics for what they really were, while presenting them to the public – if they chose to present them at all – in a distorted manner that would still hide certain truths. In particular, if they knew that the current human race derived from a god-like race as we see depicted in our ancient myths and legends, and they wished to present themselves at some future date as the descendents of these gods while the rest of us are of an inferior race (thus justifying their superiority), then it would be necessary to control any evidence to the contrary. The power of the Church, through its clergy as well as its most ardent followers, fought hard against the newly emerging scientific findings that promoted as fact our materialistic evolutionary history. It is often nothing more than the strong convictions of a respected authority that leads a whole population to believe something when no physical evidence exists to prove those convictions, and in the area of our human evolution, many clergymen and ardent religious followers were in the past very active in the formulation of ideas surrounding the interpretation of what has been found in the Earth that stems from our distant past. Because of such men (and women), whole cultures have been destroyed and their histories all but lost, in the desire to establish certain other beliefs about our origins. After all, this is exactly what the Crusades were all about, and we cannot deny this today, even if we can somehow forgive it.

Many theories have been raised over the years regarding the true facts of our origins, and of these, some have continued to have a certain appeal while others have eventually been rejected, only to be replaced by others that seem to better fit the evidence. Catastrophism is one such theory, which is the belief that our planet has gone through a series of catastrophes over the ages, with the biblical Flood being one of these. This theory is an attempt to make sense of the biblical legend of the Flood in connection with newly arising scientific findings. The discovery of human bones and artifacts amongst the bones of animals that seemed out of place, and marine specimens that were often found on the tops of mountains and in desert regions, led to this theory. For a time, this theory kept religious believers satisfied, but the weight of the greater truth of other possibilities soon forced this theory to be replaced by another, called ‘Uniformitarianism’. This newer theory was based on the idea that the Earth is perpetually going through changes at a slow but uniform rate, and the upheavals of the past were no worse than we regularly see today. This has more or less remained the consensus belief up to the present time, since it can be used to explain so many things in relation to the fields of science that deal with our planet and our origins.

But this does not by any means dictate that it’s the most accurate explanation possible. There are many ways to perceive things that are complex, and the more we look at something, the more detail we perceive, and the more complex it becomes. Thus, our study of our past reveals greater and greater complexity that can be perceived in a greater number of ways. It is entirely up to those who control the decisions that govern how we perceive things whether one view or another will be the prevailing belief.

Evolutionary theory is but a corrupted version of a greater truth. Yes, we do evolve, but it doesn’t necessarily have to occur through random mutation. It’s quite possible, as we now know, for non-random mutation to occur, and that specific genes can be mapped and purposely altered or turned on or off. The only thing that leads us to conclude that this could never have occurred in the past, and perhaps even caused our own creation, is our belief that no civilization as capable as our own has ever existed, simply because we see no evidence of one.

Scientists are often too quick to accept something as evidence of a favored theory, and to ignore any evidence that doesn’t fit that theory. The Darwinian theory of evolution is the favored theory of today, and anything that doesn’t fit into it is considered an anomaly. Atlantis didn’t exist because no significant evidence of it supposedly exists beyond Plato’s writings about it, and because we can’t conceive of an entire continent being swallowed up by an ocean. The fact that Cro-Magnon had unexplainable artistic skill seems to be an anomaly. The Great Pyramid is supposed to have been a tomb for a pharaoh, even though there is nothing to indicate it was, and a great many things about it that suggest it was something else entirely.

From what has been presented so far, it can be seen that Atlantis may have actually been the origin of the modern human species, and only later did the surviving inhabitants of this crumbling continent migrate to other lands, beginning our own first civilizations. These survivors brought with them some of their knowledge and culture, but in their flight from the final upheaval that sank their homeland, they had to abandon so much more. All of what they left behind was lost to the ocean waters or buried under the earth, and they were left to live in a harsh environment with little more than their individual knowledge, skills, and ingenuity to survive, and try to begin to build their civilization again. The myths that survive and which have been preserved in their various translations, those of Egypt, India, and Greece, are the remnant memories of a very ancient time, spanning different cultural ages over tens of thousands of years. The survivors of the biblical Flood were representative of the Atlantean survivors, a chosen race, which, in its earliest form, had been the creation of the gods, the Adamic race that was later expelled from Eden after having attained higher knowledge through a non-random mutation. Eden may have been located in Atlantis rather than Africa, and Homo Heidelbergensis may have stemmed from the original worker-being that the gods had created to work their mines. Adam would have originally been of this species, but then underwent certain genetic changes, and this resulted in his expulsion from the sanctuary of the gods. Although this legend is portrayed in the Bible as a punishment for Adam’s sinful transgression, this may just be a distortion of the true historical events, and it was that the Adamic race – who later evolved into Cro-Magnon man – was allowed to leave the nest, given the fact that he could now better fend for himself than his brethren who didn’t undergo a genetic change. These latter would evolve into Neanderthal man, and would have had a head start in populating the lands beyond Eden, as we see in the archeological record. The biblical Flood event was the last upheaval in a series of events that spanned thousands of years, and it wasn’t until this last one that the Adamic race left the Atlantean continent, the gods themselves having departed elsewhere. Noah is representative of the first Cro-Magnon to arrive from the sunken continent.

The unexplainable advancement of the art of Cro-Magnon man 50,000 years ago is an anomaly equal to the unexplainable knowledge the Sumerians held in 5,000 BC, as well as the unexplainable architectural abilities of the earliest pyramid builders. We see a degeneration of knowledge and skills with all three of these, rather than a progressive development, and this strongly suggests that these abilities are but the remaining achievements of a lost civilization of high attainment, such as the legendary Atlantis. It seems more fitting that we should view Cro-Magnon man as being more intellectually advanced than we’ve given him credit for. After having been thrown into either a sudden or progressive hardship due to planetary upheavals and at the same time facing an ongoing ice age, he only appears to have been less advanced than he actually was. Modern man would be in a very similar state if our civilization were suddenly rent asunder and most of the population and all that we had achieved were wiped out, while the survivors had to face living off the land in the extremely harsh environment of an ice age. Since there were no longer any of the conveniences that we were used to, we’d be left dependent on the knowledge and skills we each personally had that might be useful to our situation, which would probably be very little. Reading and writing would quickly become forgotten skills when there was no easy means to write. New generations would be virtually illiterate, and the only method of passing on knowledge would be orally. Although the original survivors might be intelligent enough to be able to reestablish some sense of order and use their individual knowledge for improving their situation, they wouldn’t be able to pass on very much to the next generation and anything that wasn’t passed on would be lost. All but a few of the simpler technologies of the earlier civilization would be able to be copied, using whatever materials were at hand to fashion them, which would be very few. Much of what these early survivors of a cataclysm might leave behind for us to find so many thousands of years later would therefore appear to be quite primitive to later civilizations such as our own, and almost indistinguishable from the achievements of the less advanced Neanderthals in all but their skill. It would be up to the original survivors, few and scattered as they were, to preserve whatever knowledge they were able to, in whatever manner available, or it would be completely lost and future generations would have to relearn it all over again. A great deal of knowledge was thus lost, and each separate group of survivors would only be able to use and preserve what they could of the knowledge they held between them.

Given that certain groups of people have always held secret knowledge that might provide them with a clear and unadulterated description of our true history and origins, if these people were also in control of what will be the prevailing belief of scientific fact, they would be in a position to mislead the public regarding the truth. But why would they do this? The reader should now be coming closer to understanding the answer to that question.
